How does an urban green hotel think and act?

Green is the new language of cool. It opens conversations, and opens minds in the process. We all know that.

And green buildings attempt to reduce carbon footprints and make less impact on the earth through better choices pertaining energy consumption.

It’s probably easier to envision a resort hotel putting all these wonderful green ideas to action, but how would an urban business hotel in the middle of Manhattan do it? This video explains it in simple language.

Here’s a look at 70 Park Avenue Hotel, a Kimpton Hotels property that is introducing novel ideas as well as plain common sense to be more eco conscious.

Kimpton’s eco initiatives that have been adopted across all their properties include low flow sinks and toilets, the use of recycled paper and soy-based ink for all their print promotional material, chemical-free cleaning products, down to the hotel’s Concierge who can provide recommendations on restaurants serving organic cuisine and wine, as well as mode of transport. A pedicab instead of a taxi will take you to the green restaurant of your choice.
